Dr. Andrea Fernández Carrera, PhD in Nanomedicine (University of Vigo, 2018). She is currently the lab manager in the Immunology Group at CINBIO. She has extensive experience in animal models (cancer, multiple sclerosis, peritoneal inflammation, Fabry disease), histological techniques, and flow cytometry.
She has a degree in Biology (University of Vigo, 2009) and a doctorate in Nanomedicine (University of Vigo, 2018). She developed her thesis on the study of the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in the development of fibrosis. She worked with the animal model of peritoneal dialysis. In 2019 she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Immunology group where she worked with the animal model of multiple sclerosis and pancreatic cancer. In 2020 she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Rare Diseases and Pediatric Medicine group of the Fundación Biomédica Galicia Sur, in the animal model of Fabry disease.
